Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager's primary responsibilities will include identifying, qualifying and capturing high value business opportunities in the Business Intelligence (BI) space for consulting solution services. They will be responsible for territory growth, strategic partner relationship management, new business development and sales execution. The Business Development Manager will be someone considered to be a thought leader within the BI space, and can leverage their existing network to get in front of key stakeholders within the clients, and through consultative selling, close the business. They will be responsible for developing a sales business plan which is in line with the company's aggressive growth plans and execute upon it. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leveraging all available company resources, including peers, management, consulting resources and marketing collateral to sell target clients on the company's capabilities and service lines.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of consultative selling experience, from identification to close of business
- Significant experience selling BI related products or solutions to clients through a variety of sales channels; strategic partner relationships, vendor relationships, cold calling and beyond
- Self-starter and self-directed
- Ability to leverage existing network to aggressively build new sales territories
- Well-developed professional sales skills
- Clear understanding and successful application of strategic selling techniques
- Experience selling in a territory management model
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%.

Essential Job Competencies:
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with strategic partners as well as BI vendors such as Cognos/IBM, Hyperion (Oracle), Business Objects, etc.
- Identify business opportunities and demonstrate ability to close the sale.
- Develop a sales business plan and demonstrate the ability to achieve the goals outlined in the business plan.
- Demonstrates integrity, is widely trusted, and is seen as a direct individual able to present the truth in an appropriate and helpful manner.
- Practices attentive and active listening, encourages the speaker to completely finish his/her thoughts, and is able to accurately restate the position of others whether he/she agrees or disagrees.
- Relates well to people at all levels, builds successful relationships inside and outside of organization.
